Yes... timing is everything. Everything in many ways. It can take even the most wonderful things over the top.
And it can be a frustrating thing. I could see this image in my mind every time I worked out. I did some research on how to photograph "dust" in the air. And then when I came across the processing technique for the Dragan effect, I knew I had everything I needed to proceed. I had forgotten about timing. I had to figure out the latency between the time I pushed the remote button until the camera decided it wanted to capture. I had to figure out the timing for the flashes to recharge. And I had to figure out my own timing. Impact? Just post-impact? Hmmm... In the end, it took me less than 20 shot attempts to get something that I was happy with. Patiently - I waited until I had completed my workout to finish it. :) Perhaps that was the hardest part.
